Meet the Team

lisa.jpgLisa Bradshaw – Director of the North West Learning Partnership

Lisa is a former Deputy Head Teacher, Maths consultant and School Improvement advisor, who is Director of the North West Learning Partnership and School Improvement at the Three Saints Academy Trust. As Maths Hub Lead, Lisa is responsible for all strategic and operational aspects of the maths hub, which involves liaising with the wider leadership team and recruiting schools to join the range of projects offered. Lisa is responsible for planning, organising delivery, evaluating and quality assuring the hub’s work. With the support of the strategic partners and assistant maths hub leads this leads to the development of the annual action plan, evaluation report, and individual Work Group Plans.

Lisa represents the LWY region on National Maths Hub Council.

Wider aspects of Lisa’s work include: a qualified NPQ assessor, content developer for the new NPQs, representative at the LCRW Teaching School Hub group and School Governance (contributing to both primary and secondary boards).

Picture1.pngKatie Smith - School Direct Strategic Lead 

Katie began her teaching career with the School Direct programme and has worked across both Key Stages 1 and 2 in a number of North West Learning Partnership alliance schools. During her time in education, Katie has held leadership positions in both Science and Religious Education, in addition to completing her NPQML and qualifying as a Forest School leader. Prior to teaching, Katie worked for several years in corporate and third-sector job roles, including coordinating large-scale management and leadership programmes for central government agencies and selection and assessment of candidates for educational leadership programmes. Katie is excited to now support and develop the next generation of teachers through the School Direct programme.

sarah.jpgSarah Makin – Senior Administrator

Sarah is a former marketing and finance officer from within the finance and industrial sector.

Her role as Senior Administrator is to manage the finance systems for North West Learning Partnership. Sarah also manages the Maths Hub information systems by way of updating finance information and maintaining project information. She works closely with the Paula Foster and Sarah Knowles in the administration team to ensure smooth running of all CPD events and Maths Hub projects.

Paula is a former HR Admin Manager from within the retail sector.

Paula’s role as administrator is predominantly to source suitable high quality venues, along with managing bookings for all of our conferences and training courses. Paula also provides administrative support to the Director of the North West Learning Partnership and Consultancy staff.

Sarah’s role is to provide administrative support and assistance to the School Direct Strategic Lead (Kathy Carman).

Sarah also provides clerical support to North West Learning Partnership and NW Maths Hub 3.

maddy.jpgMaddy Barnes- English Director

Maddy Barnes is an experienced primary school teacher and senior leader who is currently a full-time English Advisor. She offers bespoke training to support schools locally, nationally and internationally. Maddy still regularly teaches in the classroom and includes live-teaching sessions in most of her training. Maddy is an established educational author, writer, blogger and series editor for a range of educational publishers. She is a DfE QA proofer for grammar and reading and works within test development. Maddy is a KS2 Writing Moderator and blogs regularly for a range of educational settings.
Maddy, now the Director of English for NWLP, has worked with the North West Learning Partnership since 2013 providing high quality training for teaching and non-teaching staff.

 

lindasmith.jpgLinda Smith- Mental Health, Well-being and Safeguarding Specialist Leader

Linda has over 19 years of experience working in primary schools in St Helens. Linda’s responsibilities include child protection, safeguarding and all aspects of pastoral care including mental health and wellbeing for children and families.
She has played a lead role in Liverpool University Widening Participation AimHigher programme in raising aspirations and has worked and attained Gold Standard in The All Together Anti Bullying Award, Gold Standard on Respecting Rights School Award with UNICEF and Gold Standard School Mental Health Award with The Carnegie Centre of Excellence in School Mental Health at Leeds Beckett University.

 

tara.jpgTara Loughran- Maths Consultant

Tara has extensive experience in schools, local authorities and previously for the DfE for leading improvement and change in mathematics. She has provided high quality training on behalf of the North-West Learning Partnership since 2013; she has inspired lots of teachers and support staff to take her ideas back to the classroom with significant impact. Her contributions to school improvement have been acknowledged in numerous Ofsted and HMI reports. Her work is steeped in improving subject knowledge, building number sense to enable fluency, to enable learners to reason and problem solve.

Debs is a former primary school teacher who is now an education consultant and trainer.  Her role as Online Services Coordinator is in supporting and developing the North West Learning Partnership's online presence, including the website, newsletters and mailing lists.  Contact Debs if you need help or support with this.
